Mike had his first professional performance at the age of 14 as bass player. Since then he played in various smaller bands. Later he played in bands like Expressions and Back Water Boogie Band before he went on nation wide tour with Amarilla with whom he got to perform in 26 different States in a year's time. In 1987 he joined Brasstown Ball which changed their name to Brass Tyme in the mid 90s.
