Tom comes from the state of Nebraska where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in trumpet performance. He worked his way through college playing Big Band era music in a local group with his brother. After teaching for a couple of years, Tom joined the Army in 1982 and just retired from the military after a 23 year career playing in Army Bands in Maryland, Germany, Korea, Bosnia and Georgia. He has strong musical roots in Big Band and jazz as well as Blues and R&B and plays classical music as well. While formally trained on the trumpet, Tom is completely self taught in the art of the blues harmonica
